Pulling the past into the future. Come and join us aboard Iona the perfect way to cruise the National Trust’s unspoilt River Wey & Godalming Navigations, enjoying a cream tea whilst on-board.
Iona is pulled by one of the heavy horses along both natural river and a canal section and through one of the oldest boat locks in the country. In 1960 she featured in the film The Bargee starring alongside Ronnie Barker and Harry H Corbett. A few years later she was retired and converted to passenger carrying on the Shropshire Union Canal, pulled by a horse in the old-fashioned way.
We travel quietly in the time honoured way as generations of river boatmen have throughout history.
All trips run from Godalming Wharf (opposite Sainsbury’s in Godalming Town).
Cruise lasts approx 2 hours includes Cream Tea. Free time in Guildford before the cruise.
